Out of the box
How China sees the world?
“So China is in a more precarious situation than many Westerners think. The world is not bipolar and may never become so. The EU, for all its faults, is the world’s biggest economy. India’s population will overtake China’s. But that does not obscure the fact that China’s relative power is plainly growing—and both the West and China itself need to adjust to this.”
Too many?
“Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO, came up with the idea for Facebook one day in his dorm room. Perhaps he had snacked on too many magic mushrooms that day, or maybe he tired of watching the same Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reruns and decided to conjure up wild plans for new ways to foster his unsociability. Whatever. Who knows.”
Facebook is new television
I agree. Do you?
(Yaron Ezrahi).
Facebook je odličen pripomoček.
History of Marketing
“It explains the history of marketing – from the relatively simple olden days which saw few brands and simple USPs to the current situation of sensory and mental overload where the consumer is incessantly bombarded with advertising. This resulted in the radical shift from advertising acceptance to outright rejection.”
“Marketing people, kill yourselves”, Bill Hicks
Current journalism definition
I have stopped saying “the media” or “media industry” when talking about journalism and news. Instead I say “the news industry” or “the journalism industry.”
Are they really your friends?

Back in October there was an article in the New York Times called “Facebook in a Crowd” by Hal Niedzviecki. In the article he describes how he reached out to his almost 700 friends to invite them to a Facebook party. After tabulating the responses Hal had 15 people who said they were attending, 60 that said maybe, a few hundred that said no and no responses from the rest. On the evening of the Facebook party one person (a friend of a friend) showed up to meet him.

Cotrugli’s weekend

This Saturday I attended finale test for MBA scholarship. It was hard but worth trying episode. Hopefully there will be more to write about this matter in the future.
Is being an idealist an handicap?

According to The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II I am an idealist.
All Idealists share the following core characteristics: Idealists are enthusiastic, they trust their intuition, yearn for romance, seek their true self, prize meaningful relationships, and dream of attaining wisdom. Idealists pride themselves on being loving, kindhearted, and authentic. Idealists tend to be giving, trusting, spiritual, and they are focused on personal journeys and human potentials. Idealists make intense mates, nurturing parents, and inspirational leaders.
Huh, I don’t think so.
Orenia Yanai

V okviru letošnjega kariernega sejma sem imel priložnost prisluhniti predavanju izraelske psihologinje in strokovnjakinje za upravljanje s človeškimi viri, Orenie Yanai, avtorice bestsellerja Career your Passion.

Spreminjajoče se vrednote
Masovna manipulacija, utrjevanje ameriškega corponacionalsocializma, ustvarjanje teroristov, hermetična cenzura medijev. Obraz vojne.

Did you know there were 6.6 billion people and 3.3 billion cellphone subscribers in October 2007? 60% take mobile phone to bed every night.

I agree with Tomi saying: “I’ve been saying for a long time now, that mobile is to the internet, like TV was to radio, a far more compelling and soon-to-be dominating mass media platform.”
Do you want to know why today is not the same as yesterday? Get a new book from Tomi T Ahonen called Mobile as 7th of the Mass Media.
Internet business

If you blast your message out to anyone who will listen, aiming for a quick profit, the Internet won’t bring you any more business than standing on a street corner with a megaphone.
If your activities contribute to building long-term, trusting relationships with prospective clients and referral sources, you’ll get business on the web.
